Introduction to Buffalo Creek Community Church & What to Expect on Sunday Mornings
We would love to see you at our worship service, and there may be a few questions you have as you consider visiting a place you’ve never been. Here is an idea of what you will experience at Buffalo Creek Community Church on Sunday morning.
BUFFALO CREEK COMMUNITY CHURCH:
September 13th 2015 marks the official launch of our worship service each Sunday. We are a new church in Glencoe having roots with the Free Church (EFCA). Our desire is to follow Christ, share the gospel, and bless the community.
WHO IS BUFFALO CREEK COMMUNITY CHURCH?
We have a great mix of ages even as we begin. You will find involvement from a number of younger families, but all life stages are represented among us. Our desire is to reflect the Glencoe area and all of its demographics.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT ON A SUNDAY MORNING?
Our service starts at 10am with worship through song. When you arrive, help yourself to some refreshments and meet some other people. You will find someone near the door to direct you to whatever you need, and you will not make it far before someone introduces themselves.
WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN?
If parents desire, infants to 3 year olds are welcomed in our nursery, which is staffed starting 10 minutes before the worship service. Beyond simply being safe and loving childcare while parents participate in worship and fellowship, we desire the nursery to also be an opportunity for children to experience God through song, prayer, stories, and play with nursery volunteers.
Children are welcome to join Pastor Rakow at the front of the worship area for a short time of teaching or application related to the sermon content. This time does more than just give a chance for children of the church to stretch their legs and for adults to chuckle at kids’ innocent remarks. It focuses older students remaining in the service on the main idea of the sermon, and provides a common experience of the sermon topic for families to follow-up on together at home.
After participating in the worship service through singing, children ages 3 years through 2nd grade are invited to children’s church classes during the sermon.
The safety of your child is important to us. All adult teachers and nursery volunteers are screened through an application and background check.
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
Just as our name states we are all about community. Outside of worship services and bible study, each of us meet together weekly in Life Groups. These smaller gatherings help us to learn and grow in our faith, while also allowing for natural relationships to develop. This is a terrific opportunity for us to be connected with others and share in the celebrations or challenges life can bring. Get involved in a Life Group or contact us to learn more.
Other opportunities could include various aspects of Worship, Children’s Ministry, and more, as each one shares their God given talents. Again, feel free to contact us if you have further questions.
